| Philosophy |
Since 1881, when Father Hugo Praesser established Saint Mary School, we have been dedicated to providing quality Catholic education to children in Luxemburg and the surrounding communities. Saint Mary School seeks to combine all elements – spiritual, academic, emotional, social, aesthetic, and physical – in educating approximately 120 students from about 85 families from our community in grades Kindergarten through six.The St. Mary's School philosophy is reflected in the atmosphere of the school environment, in the parent/school relationship, in the curriculum, in extracurricular and enrichment activities and in school policies and procedures.
Today's staff & Home/School Association continue the St. Mary's School tradition of dedicated faith and excellence in education.

| Educating the Whole Child |
Saint Mary School provides all students with a welcoming atmosphere. The commitment to excellence in education is seen as a means for personal growth and development, and also as a means to improve the world. Students learn from everything they do in a setting that provides small classes and individual attention.
Celebration of the liturgy is a joyous, life-giving and shared experience, each and every day. Students of all grade levels participate actively. Here there is a passion for peace and justice; where compassion for others is not only talked about, but also demonstrated.

| Faith Based Community |
| The Saint Mary School community is one of faith and learning. Students attend Mass daily. They participate regularly by serving, providing music ministry, offering petitions and thank
you's, carrying the gifts, and reading
at mass. Through this active involvement students learn what it takes to be a positive, contributing member of a faith community. Working together with families, Saint Mary School provides an opportunity for moral development within a climate of support and openness. Using Catholic values, students are
encouraged to make responsible choices and to be accountable for their actions.

| Experience Counts |
| Saint Mary School has caring faculty and staff who see each child as an individual with unique talents and gifts. Our seven teachers are fully certified by the State of Wisconsin, and combined, have more than 100 years of teaching experience. Full-time teacher aids work hand-in-hand with the teachers to assist in the learning process. Our teachers take the time to provide for individual learning abilities, challenge students academically, develop their reasoning skills, and help them to learn a sense of self-worth.

| Challenging Curriculum |
The instructional program at Saint Mary School allows for a progression of skills and competencies. Each student is encouraged to develop to his or her full potential; to grow spiritually, academically, physically, aesthetically, emotionally, and socially; and to acquire a regard for social justice and a sense of personal responsibility.
In addition to the standard curriculum, students enjoy religious instruction from our parish priest; regular music, art, computer and physical education; accelerated reading; and special learning activities. Students also are given the opportunity to participate in numerous extra-curricular activities.

| Parental Involvement |
| Our parents and the involvement of the parish are the keys to the success of Saint Mary School. The Home/School Association is active in fund raising and supporting the needs of the school community. Each year, the parish dinner and auction brings families together to work for the school and generate funds used for school improvement. Recent activities of the Home/School Association have provided funds for new playground equipment, computer hardware and software, new teaching materials and supplies for the school.
